Extent and Type of Work Performed
Architectural, hardscape, and graphic design services were provided for the 32,000 ft2 renovations, addition, and conversion of an original warehouse area in an 800-seat, day-lit corporate dining facility for Chick-fil-A (CFA). The fast-track project included a landscaped grass terrace roof concealing the new kitchen and loading dock areas from the office building views, as well as providing an outdoor meeting venue accessible from the existing automobile museum.
Camacho Associates worked closely with Stephen Johnson, the corporate chef for CFA, to design a state-of-the-art dining facility that will serve the needs of CFA for the next 25 years. Camacho’s task was to work with the current CFA Equipment Vendors so that the equipment used in the corporate kitchen is almost identical to the CFA stores, allowing for product testing and training. The vast majority of the equipment is mobile or portable, allowing for ease in cleaning, maintenance and future layout changes.
The kitchen is designed to serve 2,000 employees daily. The dining facility has a “scatter-system” server, an art glass private dining room, built-in booths, and a pizza oven. The existing entry level atrium connects with the dining facility through a grand curved stairway. Camacho worked closely with all the design and construction team members to meet a tight delivery schedule and ultimately the project was completed early.
