Extent and Type of Work Performed
The facility was designed to serve employees and guests in the #2 Peachtree Building in the Little Five Points area. This is an existing, 40 story building with the kitchen area and dining room located on the 2nd floor. Serving areas were designed in a free-flow concept with multiple stations for service and self-service operations including an Ice Cream Bar and snack area. Camacho faced many obstacles in this facility including a long linear kitchen, bulk storage, both Refrigerated and Dry foods, being located in the lower basement area. The design included providing scrubbers and air filters for the Exhaust Hood that ultimately releases the filtered air into the Plaza. A full laundry is also located in the basement and handles the linens for the catering business and fitness area. In addition to providing foodservice to this building and its staff, the main kitchen prepares catered meals that serve a large number of banquets and special functions for this and other state owned offices in the area.
