Extent and Type of Work Performed
Oglethorpe University is an independent, highly-selective, coeducational liberal arts institution of just over 1,100 students from more than 34 different states and 36 different countries emphasizing the preparation of the humane generalist needed by a complex and changing society. The faculty is dedicated to teaching, thus providing a true learning environment in the university’s primary programs of the liberal arts and sciences, business administration and teacher education. In addition to traditional classroom experience, Oglethorpe students are encouraged to extend their learning through real-world experience, using the city of Atlanta as a learning laboratory.
The Oglethorpe Community returned to a New Student Center and Dining Hall in the Fall of 2013. Camacho designed the new dining hall that seats 275. The serving area is a scatter-type with several stations; namely Mongolian grill, pizza, grill, hot food, salad bar and dessert, and beverage station. This design offers all-you-care-to-eat dining with an abundant variety of fresh foods and includes traditional home-style meals from scratch, hot & hearty soups, fresh-made salads and sandwiches, stir-fry, hand-tossed pizzas from made-from-scratch dough, homemade pastas, and fresh desserts. In addition to the daily operations, the kitchen was designed to handle catering for the campus.
